Not Rejecting H_o Doesn't Mean It's True

In Chapter 7, I indicated that a null hypothesis should not be considered to be true simply because it is not rejected. Researchers sometimes forget this important point, especially when they compare groups in terms of pretest means. . . . [B]e on guard for unjustified claims that H_ois true following a decision not to reject H_o.
